Amrita Rao is one of Bollywood's hottest rising stars, their is no doubt that this beauties flair and stunning looks will not just take Bollywood, but the entire world, by storm.
But first the basics, Amrita Rae was born in Mumbai into a wealthy Saraswat Brahmin family on the 7th of June 1981. She is named after the drink Amrita which in sanskrit means immortality, a clear hint that Amrita Rao's family was well prepared for the fame which will undoubtedly make her just that.
Amrita Rao, like many bollywood actresses never intended to enter the acting or modelling world. Instead she stumbled onto it almost by accident as she was looking for some part time work during her college years while studying psychology at the Sophia College in Mumbai. It was here that she half heartedly auditioned for a role in an advert for Fairever Face Cream, an audition she passed despite competing among 60 other want to be actresses.
After this small advert role she was noticed by several publicity companies and shortly after appeared in an advert for Cadburies and Bru Coffee. During this time Amrita was approached on several occasions for film roles, all of which she refused until she had completed her education.
This denial of acting roles in favour of pursuing knowledge later became a great boost to her reputation for having a profession attitude and dedicated work ethic among directors and film producers the globe over.
Amrita Rao's career suffered a heavy blow after she left college and began to pursue her acting career. Amrita made her acting debut in Ab Ke Baras in 2002, unfortunately this suffered from disappointing audience numbers and posed a severe threat to her career.
Fortunately it was not long after this in 2003 that Amrita Rao was offered the role of Payal in Ishq Vishk. In this film her beautiful portrayal of Payal, a cute girl next door kind of girl boosted her onto three major films in 2004, Daewaar, Masti and Main Hoon Na, all of which won aclaim from the Bollywood Critics.
Since then she has starred in numerous films, covering both the Bollywood and Tollywood (The Telugu Film industry) and Giving her global fame.
All in all Amrita Rao is one of Bollywoods most beautiful yet down to earth actresses, although she came from a rich family her morals and integrity are deeply grounded. In every film she has worked in everyone has left glowing references of her treatment of staff, actors and the people around her.
